Iron and Steel Industry: The Backbone of the Turkish Economy, and Our Source of Pride:
One of the industries we proudly serve lies at the heart of heavy industry: the Iron and Steel Industry. And at the very core of this sector are the Blast Furnaces, the indispensable giants of production. There’s something fascinating about these furnaces—something you may have heard before or perhaps are learning for the first time...
📍 In 1939, the first blast furnace in Turkey was established in Kardemir with great hopes for the future. To bring abundance, prosperity, and fertility, it was given a woman’s name: Fatma. Years passed, and thanks to regular maintenance and renewals, Fatma continues to operate to this day. Over time, she was joined by her “sisters”: Ülkü, Zübeyde, Zeynep, Ayşe, Cemile, Ayfer, Dilek, and Gönül. Each one represents a different story, a different effort—but all are symbols of the productive strength of these lands. 📌 Today; • At Kardemir Çelik Sanayi A.Ş. (Karabük Iron & Steel Factory): Fatma, Zeynep, Ülkü • At İsdemir (İskenderun Iron & Steel Factory): Cemile, Ayfer, Gönül, Dilek • At Erdemir (Ereğli Iron & Steel Factory): Ayşe and Zübeyde making a total of 9 blast furnaces still actively producing. These blast furnaces are not only highly complex and technically demanding systems, but also incredible feats of engineering that require precision and advanced technology. 🔩 At Rota Teknik, for over 25 years, we’ve been proudly supporting these massive systems by providing production, testing, and measurement infrastructures—ensuring safe, efficient, and sustainable operations. 👉 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/d76RHvkn
